Hattie Larlham helps job seekers with disabilities begin their journey to employment through tailored programs and partnerships with local employers.
Everyone should have the opportunity to experience the satisfaction of a day's work. Work has value beyond a paycheck. A day's work lends a sense of accomplishment, self confidence and pride in a job well done.
But for some people, the glory of a simple workday routine feels too far out of reach. For the people who dream of work and the independence it brings, Hattie Larlham is here to help.
For more than 60 years, we’ve changed the disability healthcare field. Now, with your support and the support of Central and Northeast Ohio businesses, we’re making Ohio's workforce more inclusive.
Hattie Larlham uses an individualized approach to help adults with disabilities begin their journey to employment and achieve their goals.
Everyone's journey to employment is different, but our end goal for you remains the same: to find and maintain a job you love in the community. We meet you where you are and develop an individualized plan designed to help you build skills needed to compete for community employment. Our team will provide you with opportunities to explore different types of employment and job types and match you to the position that’s right for you.
Your experience may include some or all of the following phases:
Based on a job seeker's interests and strengths, we identify and make arrangements with local businesses for job trials.
A paid job trial is used to identify a person’s work strengths and weaknesses or work on an identified area of weakness to prepare for competitive employment.
This training helps job seekers build interview skills, develop a resume and learn how to look for a job.
We offer one-on-one support to find, apply to and interview for a job within the community.
Job coaches provide temporary, one-on-one, on-the-job support to assist someone as they learn job tasks and work behaviors.
Retention services help stabilize and maintain competitive employment. Services can be provided on a short-term or long-term basis.
Explore the local job market by touring worksites and completing informational interviews with various businesses of interest.
A team-based process that identifies interests, strengths, accommodations and supports to determine a person’s path to employment. The person will end the program with a detailed discovery profile which will assist the person as they seek competitive employment.
In partnership with Summa Health, Hattie Larlham’s STEP program provides people with disabilities valuable opportunities to learn transferrable job skills through job try-outs and on-the-job coaching to support them on their individual path to competitive employment. Through this innovative program, job trainees gain an in-depth understanding of the opportunities available to them in the healthcare field and receive guided support in identifying the jobs they’re best suited for.

This is a short-term opportunity for a job seeker with disabilities to explore a job they are interested in learning. The participant will be accompanied by a member of our team who will complete the assessment in the form of a 40-hour “test drive” to see if the opportunity is a good fit for the employee and your company.
Our staffing services, also known as integrated lines, are a great option if you’re seeking a hard-working team who is ready and able to meet your manufacturing needs and goals. Integrated lines are not only beneficial to our employees, but also to business owners, as contracted work training sites result in cost-savings for your company.
